Drum Lessons Are Evolving

Jared FalkFrom The Desk Of Jared Falk

Today I want to share with you who I am, and what my plans are for the DrumLessons.com website. First, a little about me.

I started playing the drums when I was 15 years old. I got hooked on playing by watching a member of my high school choir air drum to a rock song. It looked like so much fun, I instantly went home and told my parents that I wanted to play the drums.

My parents, have always been super supportive. Within 3 months I had my first drum kit, a late 60s Pearl kit that my Grandparents bought used for my Dad and Aunt in the early 70s.

Jared's First Drum SetThe first day I sat down at the kit, I knew I was in love (I know I know, super cheesy but it's the truth). My parents then signed me up for lessons with a drummer named Ron Janzen. After I outgrew Ron I moved on to a bunch of different teachers, finally settling down with two teachers, Lionel Duperron and Mike Michalkow. These two guys are not only amazing drummers and friends, but unbelievable teachers. I have them to credit for much of my success playing the drums, as well as marketing online drum lesson material. In a nutshell, that's my story of how I started playing the drums.

Now I'd like to share with you my vision for the DrumLessons.com website. In the last 4 years I have produced/published 13 step-by-step DVD/book training packages. These packages range in size from a single DVD to a massive 35 disc, 5 book training system titled the Drumming System. I have also released products/websites for different instruments such as our guitar lessons and piano lessons websites.

In these 4 years I've sold thousands of these training systems to drummers of all skill levels, helping them achieve their unique drumming goals. During this time, I've always had the deep desire to do something different, that would create more of an impact in drummers lives. Personally, I love to play drums, but more than that, I love to help drummers achieve their goals. I know it sounds stupid, but I would rather help other drummers become rockstars then become a rockstar myself.

Drummer CommunitySo the content on DrumLessons.com now is just a small taste of what is to come. I plan to launch a large community and support site for drummers in the following months. Not only will the site have over 1000 individual video lessons, we will be focusing heavily on helping YOU directly in whatever way possible. There will be an active community of drum students, as well as a large group of professional drum instructors here to help you.

Best of all, I am going to do my best to keep the costs of this drum lessons service to a minimum. With the current global economy I know times are tough, and I don't want a silly thing like money to get in the way of you reaching your goals of becoming a great drummer.

Also, I would love to hear your feedback on what you need to learn the drums. What features do you want? What are your biggest questions about drumming? Like I said earlier, I have been dealing directly with drummers for over 4 years so I have a pretty good understanding on what drummers want, but I don't claim to know it all. The more feedback I get the better. Email me directly at jared at railroadmedia.com. I read every suggestion I get and would love to chat with you about yours.

For now, I recommend you check out the complete list of free drum lessons on this websites homepage. Also, I highly recommend signing up for the free weekly Secret Lessons via email. This will allow me to notify you of new drum lessons and services that I will be releasing.

To your drumming success,

Jared Falk Signature
