Now it's time to combine snare and bass drum comping. This lesson may be a little more difficult, but shouldn't be a problem if you take your time and start off slow.
As in the previous comping examples, the cymbal hits aren't notated in the examples, however since they would be played in an actual comping session and they help in maintaining the swing feel of the eighth notes in jazz, it is a good idea to play them along with the examples.
This is by no means an exhaustive collection. Remember, the goal when comping is to maintain the rhythmic feel of the song while a soloing player is playing.
