This is a great little play-a-long that supplements the bossa nova lesson perfectly. it is based on an 8 bar intro followed by different drum patterns over piano, guitar, and bass solos, then an outro.
In order to play the first half of the song correctly, you will need a brush. Play with the brush in your right and, and a stick in your left. Using the stick, play a basic 3-2 cross-stick clave. Use the brush pattern on the snare.
When the piano melody begins, the beat stays the same as it was for the intro. When the guitar melody starts, however, you'll need to grab a stick and add in the hi-hat, which changes the feeling a little. When the bass solo begins, the drum beat changes from 3-2 clave to a 2-3 clave. The pattern changes again for the outro, and continues until the end of the song.
