Jazz Drum Play-Along With Downloadable MP3!
This medium swing play-along is set up a lot like the 3/4 swing from the previous example. The bass and drum play and 8 bar intro that sets up the main beat for the song. That groove remains until the bass solo comes in, at which point the hi-hats and cross-stick are brought in to soften the beat up a bit.
Unlike the last song, after the bass solo on this one, the members of the band trade four bar solos for eight repetitions. As usual, the solos aren't notated for you. This is your time to take what you've learned and shine.
After the soloing is over, the song returns to the main groove as the piano melody begins. The song ends with a basic "A Train" ending. Once you've gotten the two or three patterns down, take the mp3 file and move to your kit. Have fun with it!
