Learn How To Play The Flamacue Drum Rudiment!

The flamacue is a rudiment that has an accent wtihin the rudiment. Now, as you probably know, an accent is simply a note that is played a little louder relative to the others. The easiest way to do this is to just hit from a higher stick position. So the rudiment, starting on the right hand, consists of a right hand flam, left hand accented tap, right tap, left tap, and ends with a right hand flam. Remember the sequence. Go as slowly as you need and focus getting the order of the hits right first. Once you have the sequence down, you can speed up the pace and start to focus on getting nice even tone.

Examples 1 and 2 give you some practice time alone with the rudiment before examples 3 and 4 add in a drum beat leading in to the rudiment.
