You may have heard of a style of music called a bolero. This style of music is a type of spanish ballad, usually played at a slow tempo. Sometimes, however, boleros are played at a higher tempo. In these cases, their name changes and they are referred to as ballroom rumbas. The beats in this lesson's examples are typical of the ballroom rumba style of music.
In the exercises given in this lesson, pay close attention to the the sticking that is indicated on the page. Take your time and learn not only the proper pattern of notes, but the proper sticking for that pattern. As you develop your skills, gradually increase in speed.
