Now that you've become more comfortable with the motions, it is time to take what you've learned to the kit and make it more practical, and a lot more fun. In the video, I play the 10 examples 4 different ways. The first way is with a rimshot. A rimshot is when the stick come down and you hit the rim of the snare and the head at the same time. It is great for dynamics and getting that extra crack and beef in a backbeat. It is also great for latin stuff. The second way that I'm going to play the fills is to move the accents to the toms. The third way is by moving the accents to the crashes with the kick drum. The fourth and final way is with the hi-hat open with the left hand and the crash with the right hand.
The downloadable file contains exercise 3 played in the four ways described above.
