I already have the rock drumming system w/ Jared. Is it worth spending the extra money to get the drumming system w/ Mike. What are the differences and similarities between the two

I think if you scan through this topic you'll get the best answer you will find. Several of the posts cover what is included and there are reviews to help you decide. In short, DS is MUCH larger than RDS. It covers everything in RDS in more depth and adds a lot of other topics. As to whether it is worth the extra, I think all the posts I've read would say, "absolutely yes", but we each have different budgets and priorities.

Jared, will there be any more discounts on the drumming system? I feel that I want to reach the next level in drumming and I belive that The Drumming System is the way to go. I really think that this package is worth the full price and I would love to support you guys at railroadmedia by buying it right now, but as a student with a tight budget I cant afford to do that unfortunatly.

There will probably be something closer to Christmas, but at this time we have nothing planned.

You can check out the payment plan options and pay over 3 or 5 months.

Just purchased this system. I'm def. looking forward to getting through it all and learning new styles, but I am a little disappointed in some of the videos so far. DVD's 14 & 15 (Drum Set up... and Live Gig Drumming) I felt weren't very informational at all. I think in these two DVD's it would have been beneficial to learn, for example, how to mike your own kit, how to put a head on and what order to tune the lugs in. I realize that this may be because, for example, RRM sells a Drum Tuning DVD, but I kind of feel like some of the DVD's are just fillers (not much content or anything to glean from it). I don't think these two DVD's even give enough information to be helpful to a beginner. Also, I feel DVD 1's title is misleading... it really should be called "getting started." Anyhow, I'm not saying that I hate this product by any means. There will be sections that I will just love. But, I just feel like, again, some of the material isn't useful hardly at all.

You won't be dissapointed, it is a very well done package with tons of stuff to learn and master. Frustration will come from lack of time to practice all ;)
Why did I not start drums earlier ????!!!! Oh yes, i remind, no FDL community :)

Is the DS worth to buy if you are more or less only interested in intermediate and advanced lessons? Are there enough of the intermediate and advanced lessons to "justify" a purchase?

How well are the different music styles covered? Im interested to get into jazz drumming. Will I just learn the very basics of jazz with the DS, or will I learn some more advanced skills aswell? Or should I go for the Jazz Drumming System instead to get a more complete coverage of this music style?

Hi code1,

i own both systems. DS covers the basics of jazz beats and fills. If you are very into jazz, go for the jazz system, it covers everything about jazz, beats and fills, but also about comping, technical approach of the swing feel beside straight feel, as exercices with brushes, ... and plenty of useful advices from the same instructor : Mr Michalkow. You also have more play-alongs than in the jazz section of DS. DS is very good to initiate to all different aspects of drumming. With jazz, you have also access to latin beats & other styles like country, hard, progressive, funk, shuffle, .... But the JS is the complete system to immerse yourself into jazz drumming, i use it sometimes and some of the early beats are really, really "PAS" to play when you are not used to tap with your left foot on 2 & 4 ;)

I ordered the DS and it should be in today. I'm definitely excited to get started. At 36 years old I hope I'm not starting too late.

I received my package last night. Didn't have much of a chance to go through much of it. I started with DVD 1 which appears very thorough and basic. It is definitely very basic for me but I figured I would start from the beginning so I don't miss anything. Hoping this system is as good as everyone says it is.

The system looks great, I really enjoy Mikes teaching styles (from the free stuff)- Great job guys!

Quick question- How long does it take for RRmedia to process the order when you pay the 25 bucks for expedited shipping? Has anyone been able to get it shipped quickly (possibly overnight)?
Thanks again
