Whenever i improve on something i usually do or like doing, i tend to hide and keep it to myself?

Here's the story:

When i first started drawing some simple comic strips for my own enjoyment with crude art and spelling back in 2006. I tend to show it to my mom, to her friends and to my family.

After 3 years, i still do some simple comic strips once in a while for my own enjoyment with majour improvements. But, Instead of showing it like i used to, i tend to stash it and hide it forever.

This also happens on my drums. When i first started, i setuped my drumset on a wide living room space upstars with open windows and such. So, Whenever i play so darn bad (i was just starting ;) ), everyone in my neighborhood can hear me :) .

As i progressed, I moved my drums inside my mom's bedroom since it has a smaller space compared to the living room and heavy curtains....

After a few months, still progressing at drumming,  I moved my drums downstairs to a smaller room with minimal windows and concrete walls... So i can play abit more "privately"...

This dilemma i have is so strange that it makes me wonder why i do this..  :D

I guess it's a natural human attempt to not seem vain.

"Oh, so you draw?"
"Uh... um... well... ah... sort of, i guess."

I've been drawing for about 15 years now.
