I've seen quite a few different lessons on bass doubles, including heel-toe, slide and swivel. Heel-toe makes the most sense to me. Swivel has never worked (again, for me), but looks like a variation of heel-toe. The Slide doesn't feel as fluid. Its fine for a single quick double, but I don't like it as well for rolls or other continuous doubles.

Of the videos for heel-toe, I haven't seen anything that explains it as well as BDS. You still need to put in your practice hours, but the explanation and technique demonstrations really helped me figure out how its done. Showing the motion slowed down all the way to 1/10 speed lets you see exactly how to perform the motions and proves anyone can do it, no matter how big your feet are. The exercises take you through single and double bass from 8th notes, through 16ths and 16th triplets, all the way up to 32nd notes. And there are a lot of exercises for one foot and both feet, including warm-ups, as well as stuff to help with the hi hats - which I didn't expect at all.

Jared even wore clean socks for the shoot! :)

once again you have taught another drummer the CORRECT heel toe technique and i thank you so much for it
once you have this technique down most of if if not all of the beats will have heel toe technique so you need to what jared says alot don't go skipping ahead they have it in that order for a reason! and with the slow motion camera it makes it ALOT easier and you will see it thereatically has nothing to do with the heel at all  again a very good product

Hey thanks man...I really appreciate it. There are so many variations of this technique out there drummers tend to get really confused. I am glad it cleared things up. All the best in your drumming.

I'm thinking of this system now. Maybe I will order it along with Rudiments System, but I'm a bit confused about delivery time. How much will it take to get my order to Russia If I choose expeditory-36$-service? Any suggestions about international postage speed?
I wish you'd do it again. I'll watch you leave here limping...

If you email: support@railroadmedia.com we can answer all your order related questions. I wouldn't pay the high amount for shipping. It may get there a few days faster, but it's a lot extra. The $14 option is your best bet and will probably get there in around 12 business days...give or take. It's always tough to estimate with international shipping. Please feel free to email us with more questions, we would love to help out.

I just hate the wait, why can't it just spit out of your computer when you click purchase  . I'll just work on other stuff until it gets here. I'm glad you think it is a good lesson pack because my feet tend to have a mind of there own sometimes(especially with doubles and triplets) I can't wait to try and get them under control and I hope this pack will help me do that. Thanks Again. :D

Hey man,

A good start would be to check out a few vids on my Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/jaredfalk. The package you are going to receive, it is much more in depth...

Thanks for your order...And make sure you post your feedback when you receive the product.

Hey i received the Bass Drum Drum Secrets about Christmas time and really never got a chance to look at it until now. So I was just wondering if that gift is just the DVD or the whole package. Because all i got is the DVD, no workbooks or anything.

Just got the Bass Drum Secrets pack! just what I was looking for. The slow mo' is great really helps. The wife's getting alittle annoyed I've been practicing the foot movement on the floor all day "Thump! Thump!" I'm a little overwhelmed though, I bought the Rudiment Systems and Moeller Method about a month ago and I'm trying to work on a little of everything. They're all great videos! had to get the tee shirt too!

Just a quick note to say I ordered this and RDS and the moeller method DVD on the 9th and they arrived on the 17th. I'm in the UK.
However the USPS tracking page still says "there is no record of this item" so if you are watching the tracking page to see when you'll get your package, don't bother :)

I'm just watching the Bass secrets DVD at work and trying the motion just under my desk, my leg is tired after just a few minutes!! I think I'm going to end up with toned thighs as well as better bass drum technique ;)

That's great that you got the package! I know the tracking is messed up. When you order from us you can select a higher class of shipping which will include a more detailed and accurate tracking record. However, I don't think it's really worth it as we are always here to make sure you get the packages as FAST as possible. I order tons of stuff online and I know how frustrating it can be to have to wait around for stuff to arrive.

Anyways, post a vid of you playing using the heel toe technique when you get the chance. It definitely works some different muscles that you don't necessarily work when playing traditional double or single bass drum techniques.

I watched Jareds youtube vid on the heel toe technique and I struggeld with it for a day or so. I emailed Jared and his advise was "buy the bds pack" (I kinda thought that would be his response) . Anyway It finally clicked and I'm working on putting it into beats. I ordered the RDS and BDS and I anxiously await their arrival. I know that throwing in a quick double kick or even a single off beat kick, really changes up a groove and will make people notice. I can't wait to get started on both of these. I think I'll work the BDS for a while before the RDS so when I do get to those parts where the kick is a little quick, I'll have it down.
