Hey Jared,
I have a few questions

1. How long would you practice during the starting days of your drumming.

2. Do you have any ideas of touring India

3. Are your's, Dean's and Dave's band's albums available in India. If so who is maketing them here.

Thanks in advance for you time!

Thanks for your questions.

1. I usually practiced anywhere from 1 - 6 hours per day. This was pretty consistent from when I started til around 18 or 19.

2. No sorry, no plans to tour India. Although I have friends out there and some day may visit, I will probably not be playing.

3. The albums I have played on are all listed on my website www.JaredFalk.com. If you do some research I am sure you can find links to buy them. All the songs that Dean played on can be bought off of iTunes. Also, you can check out the Drum Play Along System, which has all the tracks played to DVD, as well as the tracks without the drums for you to play along to.

Hey Jared, just wondering if you or any of the other guys have any endorsements, and if so, how does that process work?

We don't have any official endorsements...We are given gear on a shoot to shoot basis. So if we are filming a new product, and the artist wants to use a certain type of drums, I will contact that company outlining exactly what we are doing and what we need. For the most part, the companies are very cooperative.

Drummers who play in bands that are really popular will get free kits to take on tour....

We've been given cymbals, sticks, snare drums, and drumheads before.

Hi there.

I didn't know where to post this question, so forgive me if this is not the right place. I've noticed the different "rankings" that some of the posters have, such as Sergeant and the like. My ranking is Recruit. How does that change? What are the rankings all about!

Thanks!

Hi Paradiddler!

It's based on the number of posts..Theres a thread that explains it pretty good...Official Ranking System..Something like that right here in the feedback forum. Hope this helps. :)

Hello,

Yes, Lionel Duperron and Mike Michalkow both went to music college out here in Canada. I finished my schooling in high school and was never one for studying or being forced to learn things that I didn't think I needed. I am not sure on Mike and Lionel's exact degrees. School is not necessary, but it is great for completely saturating yourself into the music, as well as getting some contacts for gigging.

I have only played in PA once in my life, don't know if I will be coming back any time soon.

I'm not sure the exact city. It was around an hour from Philadelphia.

Hi Jared!
I would like to ask you what bands do you play in ? I know Aida it´s a perfect band. Is it jazz-pop? Aida´s style of music is unique.

Hi Jared,

I've been wondering how your sisters band is doing..

Do you or the guys ever play in Windsor, Ontario? Or the other side of Port Huron?
If so are you going to be in one of these areas sometime this year?

Yes, it is extremely hard to make a living just playing drums. For me, I have the "internet drum lessons" side of my income as well as regular scheduled gigs and studio sessions. However, if anyone is willing to work hard enough I believe they can do it.

No, we don't really play anymore...There was a small window of time where we played a lot of gigs but kinda lost steam. She does her own little solo thing right now.

Beside from being just a gig drummer in general and making a living, which I can imagine being very hard, what are other jobs you can get from drumming that are good paying and allow you to make a living? You know, jobs like your internet lessons, which by the way I find extremely helpful.

You can play on a cruise ship which I have been asked to do at one time, however it only pays around $300 or $400 per week so it's not that much. You can become a school music teacher. You can start giving private drum lessons. Doing studio sessions is a great way to earn a living however it would be impossible to do that for a living out where I am...Maybe if you're in New York or LA there would be enough work. That's all I can really think of right now. What most drummers do is get a regular job and do music on the side..that definitely takes the stress away of having to play a certain amount of gigs in order to pay the mortgage
