Hi!

I need to record with my Roland TD6 drumkit on my pc and I need something to record my guitar with. What do I need? I've tried recording via the regular mic in to pc, wich sounds terrible. Thomann suggested me to buy http://www.thomann.d...ck_ultra_8r.htm . But I dont know, it seems a little big and unnecessary and expensive :/ .

So could someone please recomend a good hub/jack in thingy?

Thanks!

Do you want to record both (drums and guitar) at the same time?
You should be able to get your drums in w/o a problem with just a good quality cable. You need to keep the output from your module low since your computer is looking for a low level signal. I do it all the time with my Roland module just using its headphone jack for output and plug into the mic/line input on my laptop. I'm not looking for professional results, but it sounds OK to me. Check any of my song covers for examples of the sound quality.

For better results I've used this kind of thing from M-Audio. It lets you use USB to bring the signal in and has the preamp for guitar and phantom power for possible mic' use. I got an earlier version of this interface for $89 or $99 and it works fine for me.

I dont need to record at the same time. Well your'e right about the drums, it sounds OK with a regular cable into pc mic. But when I do that with my guitar on Audacity, well you know it sound shitty and I cant use disortion or any sound settings what so ever. :(

Well maybe this isnt the right forum to ask about guitar plugin thingys lol, though if you have any recomendations to make it sound OK and so I can use diortion etc. it would be helpful cause I'm totally new with recording hardware.

Thanks again

The M-Audio interface I linked to above should get you there for your guitar recording. It has the needed preamp and software for basic effects and amp modeling.
