I have a 14" zbt crash id like to replace with an 18" crash, and an 18" crash/ride id like to replace with a ride. I dont like really expensive cymbals so im looking at paiste pst's. I like music from zeppelin to motley crue to buckcherry to sabbath to black veil brides. Can someone explain to me the difference between PST 3s 5s and 8s? And which would you reccomend to me? what do you think about them?

I think anyone in this forum could do a lot of explaining on many different types of cymbals, but ultimately your ear needs to decide. You could pick out an entire line of cymbals that you think you like and then go to a store to buy them and you might hate them. I had the entire paiste 2002 line picked out until I heard it in a cymbal room, which I ended up not liking at all, and went with Sabian AAX. Good Luck man :D

Don't know much about PST8s because they're brand new and you can't just see them in a shop yet so i haven't heard them (except for the sound samples on the Paiste website). And I suppose they'll cost pretty much like the Alphas cost, so quite non-cheap. PST3s are brass, so walk them around. If you want budget Paiste go for PST5s, they're great value for money, they're durable, they sound great. I currently have a whole set of'em :) Next set of cymbals really worth buying (to really hear the difference) would probably cost two times that much :)

That's my opinion. Personal. Probably shared by hundreds of others using Paiste PST5s. Some say they're as good (or even better) as Sabian XS20 which is 30-40% more expensive.
