hey, is it a problem if I play more on the practice pad than the kit? if im lucky I get to play 15 hs a week on the kit but I get to play like 20 or more on the drum pad. I read somewhere on the site that it should be 50:50.

Any (correct) practice is good practice. I would never limit pad time just to bring it down to the same as my kit time (unless I could substitute kit time for that pad time).

What if you pretend you have an entire drum kit in from of you but you just have a practice pad? I always do that before playing my acoustic kit or just for practice.

I have the DW practice pad set and it has been a great investment! You can practice just like you would on a kit, but without the noise.

Dude if your getting 35+ hours a week of (good) practice in, your way ahead of most people!
Caution: The above rant has been disjected with sarcasm.

Remo also makes a practice pad kit. I've used it quite a bit. It doesn't take up much room and lets you play a snare, bass pedal and three toms (or cymbals). The heads are tune-able, but not very quiet. Remo practice kit.

Works for me. I have put a stuffed sock down the stand so i get a different sound when i hit it there for my Hi Hat hand as i find i get a little confused if i hit the pad with it as well
