hi all!

after 4 months of daily e-drumming in my apartment, my downstairs neighbors finally decided to notify me about the thumping noise travelling through the floor. googling, as usual, helps and i found instructions on the vdrums.com forum on how to build a "tennis ball drum platform" that should alleviate the issue at hand:

http://www.vdrums.co...lating-Platform

here's my short YouTube-video on how i build my drum riser, hope this helps if someone is facing the same problem:

whether it really works in my case, remains to be seen.

This is great! I apparently kept my neighbors up to 1 am because of the thumping

a quick update on the effectiveness of this drum riser: a week back or so i managed to get hold of my neighbors after a quick 30-min drumming session. they didn't even notice that i had played as they weren't in the room right underneath my drum set. so, the good news is that at least their whole apartment is not booming when i play! :) a few nights earlier they had noticed me playing, but in their words, there is a substantial decrease in the noise level, which now for them is acceptable.

so, the drum riser does not isolate the noise 100% in my case, but at least i can continue with my playing in my apartment. i will look into ways of improving the isolation.

keep rocking,

That's a cool riser set up. Nice work.
