Hi guys, I recently set my kit up in a different room which has very thick carpet, the problem is the bass drum pedal spikes are to short and do not stick far enough into the floor, the pedal also doesn't have Velcro underneath it. Is there a way of making the pedal more stable, will putting a thin rug on top of the carpet work?
thanks

If you cant lengthen the spike then yes i would try putting a rug over the carpet. as far as i can see theres no harm in doing that

I'm having a similar problem that I'm trying to workout. I moved my drums to a new house about 5 months ago. Then from there I moved it to another spot. The spot I moved it to has a big air bubble in the carpet and I can't get it to flatten out. I'm probably just going to move my set again next time I'm there.

I solved this problem with a door mat similar to this one: http://www.amazon.co.../dp/B00275VUXW/

I use a cheap (but stiff) rug from Walmart. It was $10 and works great. It stays put and spurs hold tight in it and so does velcro.
. You'll never know if you like it until you pull down your pants and take a slide on the ice.
