Hey guys! Well, I finally did two things I've been wanting to do. 1: I put myself on the Member Show-Off Area, and 2: I GOT MY 7 PIECE PEARL VSX KIT!!! Right now I can't make any covers, cause I don't have any mics or mixers. But, I think that till I get them, this could be a bit like an encouragement thread for me, till I CAN make covers. So, like I'll post something I'm working on, and you guys could give me tips on how to do it better, or faster. Pics are def on their way. Can any mods tell me how I can upload photos to the forum without running out of my 'global upload capacity' or whatevs it's called? I see guys with like 20 photos up, and I'm already a third of the way into my uploading capacity, so I'd like to know what I could do. Okay, enough ramblin'. Here are the details of the kit, and what I expect in the future!

Kit:
14" Pearl Export Snare Drum
8"10",12",14"16" Toms
22" Bass Drum

Cymbals:
14" Solar by Sabian Hi-Hats (STB Replaced)
18" Solar by Sabian Crash/Ride (STB Replaced)
16" Wuhan China (Beastly as HECK!)BROKEN ;(
16" Meinl MCS Crash (MAY be Replaced)

Future Expectations:
Sabian 17" AAX X-Plosion Fast Crash Cymbal
Sabian 24" AA Metal X Ride Cymbal
Zildjian 8" K Splash
Meinl 14" Classics Powerful Soundwave Hi Hat Cymbals
Paiste Twenty Series 18" China

EDIT!!! Heads: Snare (Remo Coated Emperor) Toms (Evans Hydraulic on 8" tom, Onyx on all the rest) Bass Drum (Aquarian Superkick II)

Hardware: Gibraltar Prowler Double Pedal, Gibraltar Cymbal Stands, Pearl Cymbal and Snare Stands

DW Kitbuilder version of my kit as it is.
DW Kitbuilder version of my kit once all of my cymbals and extras are added.

I use photobucket to upload my pictures. Then use the "Insert Media" button and paste their URL to link to them from here.

Got a FREE SKII head for my bass drum cuz the one that came with the kit was broken when it was put in the car. (How the heck...?) All I can say is OMG!!! I don't think I will EVER turn to another bass drum head EVER! This head sounds amazing just by itself with nothing in it. Normally, I'd muffle a BD head in a heartbeat, but this is so perfectly muffled, that I'm scared to put anything inside it. Has a great amount of low end, too. It really cuts through the toms, which I like to hear. IMO, I'm only a few cymbals away from literally having my DREAM DRUM KIT!

i couldnt agree more about the SKII. I recently retuned my bass drums, and i threw one pillow in each of them and it sounds even better!

I'm thinking about grabbing a new snare drum head when I get the chance. What would you recommend for hard rock/metal? The Remo Emperor X, or the Evans Hybrid? Lots say the Hybrids the one to go for, but I want an 'official ruling' so to say on what snare sound I can expect from these heads. TY

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite cymbal (16 Wuhan China) has developed a large crack in the strongest part of it (the part you hit when it's played "upside down") SO SICK of my cymbals cracking on me. Next it'll be my ride, then my hats, then I will have officially broken 4 cymbals in 1.5-2 yrs

Are these good cymbals to purchase in the sense of how good they go TOGETHER soundwise? I heard that you're supposed to pick hats first, then buy cymbals that harmonize with the hats. . . I don't know the validity of this statement, so any post that gives me help on understanding why it is or might be a good idea to buy cymbals this way is appreciated. :)

I suppose it would be a good idea to start with the hats and go from there since the hats will be heard more then any other cymbal in the set. Unless you're like Attack Attack of some other band that uses the china like its the only cymbal they have xD

Was playing on my homemade double bass practice pad, and I realized that my skill has not drifted too far off! :) Can still do some pretty decent speeds with evenness. Only 2 months and 10 days before I can set my kit up again!

CAN'T WAIT!!!

Wish my friends would say the same. they don't give a crap about how enthusiastic I am about drumming. . . okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration. They like that I drum, and (sorta) support me, but they're not interested in musicianship as much as I am. Meh, ain't gonna please everyone. At least my parents support the fun I have with it, and others who are INTERESTED in it as much as I am. It's probably cause I'm younger and I got more time on my hands. . . I'm sure when a job and family come down the road for me, I won't have this enthusiasm. Might as well soak up all the fun with it that I can, while I can still find time to! :D

Also: Check out my new background for my youtube channel. I made it myself on paint.net. I think it turned out pretty sweet! LINK: http://www.youtube.c...CompetitiveHalo

Hey, I'm just wondering the time signature of the song 'The Final Episode' by Asking Alexandria. I think it's 6/4. But, I just want to know for sure, so that when I play it, I know what mindset I need to be in time-signature wise. lol :)

Sounds like it's in 6/8 to me.
My DVD collection: Drumming System, Rock Drumming System, Drum Rudiment System, Drum Playalong System, Moeller Method Secrets, Jo Jo Mayer Secret Weapons, Tim Waterson on Bass Drum, Breaking the Code, Groove Essentials 1.0, and one that is currently blowing my mind: Tommy Igoe's Great Hands for a Lifetime

That K splash doesn't really fit with all your other heavy metal cymbals. I'd recommend A Custom or AAX to match your other stuff. Personally I'd go with Meinl's Soundcaster Custom Distortion Splash, Chris Adler's beastly signature splash :D

Hey, guys. I played my snare drum yesterday. First time I got real practice into a drum in about 4-5 months. :D And, I noticed that I think I do buzz rolls OKAY, but I'm not great at them. What do you do when you want to play a buzz roll? Just wanna make sure I'm not doing anything wrong when trying a buzz roll.
