i've heard many people say the sound of their cymbals change after some time, usually for the better, and i have actually experimented the same thing with the stock crash/ride that came with my drum kit, it has been about a month and a half and now it sounds a little more.... well more like crash XD, and using it as ride, i feel it has a better "ping", has this happened to you? and if someone could tell me, why does this happen??

You ever noticed that a new pair of jeans feels more comfortable after you've worn them a few times. Same with cymbals. After playing them for a while you break them in.
How can you be yourself when you don't know who you are?

you could almost say the cymbals gets "used" to getting hit or something like that right?

The metal of the cymbal adjusts a certain degree. I don't know anything beyond that.

I would say it gets used to getting (hit) ~fixed your sentence :P~

Hitting cymbals undoubtedly has affects on the metal so over time those mentioned affects can slightly change the sound of the cymbal. The change is never anything too drastic from what I've noticed.

It's also a psychology thing. Your ears get used to the sound of them, and so they sound better to you.
My name is Joey.
