My first cover.
It sucks, but I just wanted to get it up for my friends who wanted to hear my set and see me play, and I thought I should post it here too. Tell me what you think, consider that I've had my set for about 2 and a half weeks (I had played before but not much)
I learned a lot from watching/hearing a video of me play, and it helped me improve a little bit. I think everyone should record themselves even if they they don't want to upload it for others to see.

I am also a huge fan of Metallica, IMHO I just noticed a few things and have some constructive criticism for you. Your heads seem really loose in the video, if they are and you tighten them up some it will improve the stick rebound for you. Your left side crash seems to be angled to far down, I think they should be at a slight angle towards you but not as much as you have it. For the song I would use the crash on your right side especially if you are doing beats on the floor tom, It will be quicker and on the right count versus going across until you get faster with your right hand. For the beats within the song you seemed pretty good and it is always good to film yourself to know what is happening after you are done playing. But I would have chosen a much slower song to start off with until you get faster, For Whom the Bell Tolls would be a perfect choice and gradually working your way up in speed. Good job man, being a drummer is awesome, the challenges and rewards are unbelievable, enjoy the journey.

Thanks for the feedback.
I tried to tune my heads when I got them and ended up making them worse so I gave up for now, lol. I'm gonna have my friend tune them, or maybe I'll try again, and I'll keep that in mind when I do.
I had my left crash angled up more but I read somewhere that it's better for the cymbal to not hit it on the edge as much, and I noticed it was starting to get warped a little bit, and I have no money for a new one if it breaks, I think it's fine where it is.
I don't really like the sound of the crash on the right so I don't use it very much, I could switch them though.
I was planning on doing For Whom the Bell Tolls next. My band is playing Creeping Death at lunch at school next Wednesday, so I've been trying to practice more. I play it better when I'm playing with them for some reason, I think it's because I can actually hear the bass. I'll probably have a video of that.
Thanks for posting

Show is today in like 3 hours. I'm kinda nervous but idk why because I've played with my school band a bajillion times and I'm never nervous.
It should be fun though, and hopefully I'll get someone to record it.

Took alllll day to upload, it's so slow o.O
Bass was too loud lol, a half stack vs 2 smallish guitar amps. The lead guitarist's amp almost blew out.
Annd the he's just temporary singing till we get a better singer.(at least he tried though right? :s)
2 problems with the bass drum, 1 you can't even hear it at all, gonna mic it next time. 2. It was sliding away from me because I was hitting it harder to try to make it hear-able and we forgot the carpet to go under it. You can't really hear my toms either.. Kinda ironic we borrowed bigger amps so that you could hear them over the drums but they ended up overpowering the drums.
But anyways, here's the videos.
only lets me put 2 videos per post, last video in next post

I finally got the video from our talent show that was a month and a half ago....
We had some 'technical difficulties', the person controlling the mic volumes didn't know what he was doing and kept turning up the wrong person at the wrong time.. We had a few timing issues too, but overall I think it was ok for our 2nd live performance. And I need a bass drum mic...
Oh and no I don't have a mohawk, that was my friend's wig I was wearing for lols...And nobody told me it was sideways

I think you are doing fine, but you do need to amp the drums.
